Jupiter Hotels operate 26 Mercure-branded hotels in the UK from Inverness to Brighton, with 2900 rooms. Working closely with the Sales and Marketing teams for many years, recent projects include upgrading the 26 individual microsites to be responsive and introducing a new innovative wedding planner enquiry system using a cloud based pricing tool.

With a global hotel franchise like Mercure, even though part of the Accor Hotels group, there is still a role for a property based local hotel website that can promote the individual venue for weddings, restaurants and leisure clubs, in addition to accommodation. This helps to build loyalty with the property as well as the brand.

Responsive websites for 26 Mercure hotels

During late 2015, the 26 hotel websites were each upgraded to be responsive on multiple devices: tablet, smartphone and desktop. In the 3 months after the upgrade, the mobile traffic to the relaunched hotel sites had a 35% drop in bounce rate and a 30-60% increase in session duration.

Increasing wedding enquiries

We created a new online Wedding Planner tool for 23 hotels which enables couples to plan and mix-and-match exactly what they want from their wedding day and get an estimated cost for their wedding straight away. They can view and select food and drink menus, choose from various room selections for both ceremonies and receptions, and price all of this according to how many guests they are hoping to share the day with.

The tool was designed to be simple and fun to complete, without being over long or complicated. Optimised for use on mobile as well as in hotel properties using tablets, this lead-generating tool helps to pre-qualify enquiries so the Events Team in the hotel can respond with a more personalised and complete response – making it easier to convert the wedding booking.

Feedback from customers and the Events Teams in the hotels has been even more positive than anticipated, and the hotels have already received hundreds of enquiries via the new tool.

Promotional videos for the hotels

We’ve created a huge number and variety of promotional hotel videos. From advertising seasonal offers, to videos highlighting destinations as well as promoting the hotels as wedding venues. The videos are hosted on YouTube and embedded on the hotel microsites, used in the hotels to promote the hotel for wedding enquiries and featured in email marketing campaign offers.
